Mike the Producer

When Mike's not busy playing bass on someone else's project, he's probably producing

one himself. The latest project was a 12 song CD for Doug Adkins (Whiskey Salesman),

Whether it's a CD for an touring artist like Doug or if it's a demo to pitch an artist to a

record company, Mike is the man for the job. Mike produced the demos on Martina

McBride (along with co-producing help from Martina and her husband John) that led to

her getting her record deal with RCA.

When Mike produces recording projects he calls on his studio musician buddies in

Nashville to play on his sessions. On his latest project (Doug Adkins), Mike played

bass himself and employed guitar greats Brent Mason, J.T. Corenflos, Chris Leuzinger,

and Jeff King. On keyboards Gordon Mote was the piano man and on steel guitar,

dobro and lap steel Bruce Bouton and Mike Johnson took turns sliding around while on

drums Lonnie Wilson and Owen Hale were the groovemeisters.
